TIMING ATTACKS ON INFORMATION IN UNTRUSTED ENVIRONMENTS

The relevance of improving the software and algorithmic protection of hardware devices operating in untrusted environments (UTE), due to the fact that they are most likely to be exposed to the purpose of disruption of their internal structure. The purpose of the article is to analyze, evaluate the effectiveness, and predict the development of promising tools and methods of attacks on information in the UTE. The article discusses the main characteristics of attacks on information in untrusted environments. A detailed analysis of these characteristics is given. Attention is paid to algorithmic and hardware methods of information protection from time attacks. Among these attacks are considered using cache memory, analysis of power consumption and characteristics of electromagnetic fields. The advantages of attacks over other methods of side-channel attacks are shown: no expensive laboratory equipment is required; they can be implemented remotely, without physical access to the attacked information security tool; can be included as part of a complex attack. The disadvantages of time attacks are: the need for high accuracy of determining the time of the encryption operation; the requirement of a large amount of data for analysis; understanding of all the features of the implementation of the algorithm used in this type of processor, its architecture; the availability of access to the cache memory used by the process under study. Among the shortcomings of the methods of countering attacks over time are: they are not complex; they can create a side channel of information leakage; there are no estimates of their effectiveness. The results are valuable in the practical organization of information protection in UTE.

THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ALGORITHM OF RECOGNITION OF HANDWRITTEN TEXTS ON THE BASIS OF THE VALUATION IMAGE

One of the most popular approaches for handwriting recognition is the representation of entire words in sequences of symbols of the Markov chain. The set extracted from the images of the symbols is analyzed for compliance with a pre-prepared word patterns (model templates). The word whose model has the highest probability of formation of the analyzed sequences recognized the target. The variability of cursive writing words leads to the need of the analysis extracted from the image sequence of characters with models generated for words consisting of different numbers of digits. In the case where the analyzed word different from the word used for the model-only template, model template longer words earns you a mathematical advantage over the model of the shorter words, leading to recognition errors. The paper proposes to reduce recognition errors, the normalization of the image.

MODELING OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE SCATTERING BASED ON THE COMBINED METHOD IN URBAN AREAS

The paper discusses a combined model of electromagnetic wave diffraction by buildings in urban areas, is based on the uniform theory of diffraction. It is known that there are problems when using the uniform theory of diffraction for areas in which there is a large number of wedges. In the present work is the consideration of the members of the high-order diffracted field, giving opportunities for more accurate results, that is, using a combined model with physical optics and uniform theory of diffraction. Such models may find applications in the development of theoretical models to predict more accurate way signal loss in urban environments when considering the propagation in several buildings.

MICROSTRUCTURAL CHANGES OF DENTAL POLYMERIC FILLING MATERIALS BY THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS FOR ITS PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL IMPROVEMENT

It is well-known that restorative filling materials used for treatment of dental caries consist of various components including synthetic monomers or low-molecular polymers, playing an important role in the formation of the main structure of these materials and characterizing their physical and chemical properties. The necessity of variation and improvement in structural characteristics of polymeric dental filling materials by the electromagnetic fields for its physical and mechanical improvement served as the initiating factor of our research.
According to the research purpose and challenges, we studied the microstructure of fillings and bonding materials, investigated their physical and mechanical properties before and after the electromagnetic field influence.
The obtained data analysis shows the microstructural changes in physical and mechanical properties of polymeric filling materials after the electromagnetic field exposure, including condensation of the material microstructure according to the results of scanning electron microscopy and an increase in their physical and mechanical strength properties.
