MICROSTRUCTURAL CHANGES OF DENTAL POLYMERIC FILLING MATERIALS BY THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS FOR ITS PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL IMPROVEMENT

It is well-known that restorative filling materials used for treatment of dental caries consist of various components including synthetic monomers or low-molecular polymers, playing an important role in the formation of the main structure of these materials and characterizing their physical and chemical properties. The necessity of variation and improvement in structural characteristics of polymeric dental filling materials by the electromagnetic fields for its physical and mechanical improvement served as the initiating factor of our research.
According to the research purpose and challenges, we studied the microstructure of fillings and bonding materials, investigated their physical and mechanical properties before and after the electromagnetic field influence.
The obtained data analysis shows the microstructural changes in physical and mechanical properties of polymeric filling materials after the electromagnetic field exposure, including condensation of the material microstructure according to the results of scanning electron microscopy and an increase in their physical and mechanical strength properties.
